I feel there have been no significant progress in any sports except football. I know football is their inspiration, but Saudis must step into other sports too. Cricket is ideal, believe me. There are few cricket teams in KSA comprises mainly of Pakistanis and Indians. Now its the duty of government to lay importance on this issue.

I Have Lived In Riyadh For a Few Years and One Thing that I Have Observed that Saudis love Soccer they are crazy about it . but bhai , i have seen in places such as Jeddah and Dammam that Cricketis also Rsing in Popularity the Indian and Pakistani Expiates have been playing Cricket since a long time and there is also a cricket Stadium in Abha , Though Saudis Don,t kNow cricket but they can understand the name when they see people playing it , Besides Soccer Saudis are are also Good at Tennis , Baseball and basketball I Have a few saudi Students in my University and They are Champions not only in Soccer but also in tennis and Basketball
There are Saudi baseball and basket ball teams.. Ive even seen them on TV, but just not as popular.. Ive never seen American tackle football here in Saudi though. Loads of Saudi’s do tennis and swimming though. There are swim teams. My husband used to be on one when he was in highschool here. .. And yes.. there is always the uber boring “golf”..
because they are more interested in marrying 50 wives and breeding 200 children like rabbits ,,,

SubhanAllah since when are sports ‘important’? Its Sunnah to wrestle, swim, ride horses and practice archery, these Are important..not kicking some ball around and swatting at a ball with a stick….Follow the sunnah people, it is important. Peace
i personally don’t find cricket a very interesting sport, however; I think it’s a good idea to lay importance on all kind of sports including cricket. it’s a fabulous invest of money as it makes the society healthier. we might do better in another sport than how we are doing in soccer. who’s gonna listen to this anyway.
Why do pakistanis/indians neglect the importance of other sports, especially football?

There are few football teams in pakistan/india comprises mainly of alienated pakistani/indians. Now its the duty of government to lay importance on this issue.
