i always go to indian restaurants and i recently went to a pakistani restauraunt and the food was amazing! it was quite similar but quite different at the same time.
p.s some indean restaurants and the pakistani restaurant has this yummy wilted green veggie incorperated into some of their dishes, it wasn’t spinach what is it and what is it called?
the green leafy veggie was a bit fiborus almost like a chard but without as much texture. it was bright green ( assuming it is put in the last minute of cooking)
they called the dish “veggie sizzler” it was a mix of a few diffrent veggies and chickpeas. probably cooked in a cast iron skillet with ghee.
if anyone has an authentic pakistani recipe close to this it would be much appreciated!

India and Pakistan in fact one country, food culture is same, they just living apart..
Well, Pakistan was a part of India till 1947 so essentially their cuisines will be similar. Pakistani food would be a lot like North Indian food while Indian food would be a mix of South & North (lower part of the North, since the upper part is now Pakistan) Indian food.
I’m no expert but this is what I think it is.
I’m not sure what that green wilted veggie that you’re talking about is though. Maybe you could describe it a bit more?
Hope this helps! =)
it’s pretty much the same. but indian food has more oil in it and mostly veggies.
As pakistan was a part of india so there is similarity between there foods. the difference between the food of both the countries is that pakistani food is more like north indian food esp more like punjabi food which has more of oil n ghee in comparison to other indian states. but it is not true that all of pak or noth indian food is having more oil or ghee it depends on what u have ordered.
but India being a large country has lot of variety of food in its different regions.
like south indian food is more of dosa idli ,ricesanbhar i.e. totally non greeasy.
similarly there is different type of food in Eastern parts n north eastern parts of India eating more of rice n fish.
western india has more of dry n spicy food. but very tasty. n they also add less of ghee or oil except in sweets u will find lot of ghee.
Can’t think of any major differences other than the meat being halaal. I don’t think all Indian restaurants have halaal meants but most of the Pakistani restaurants would have halaal meats only. Otherwise the cuisines are very similar.
There’s quite a few veggies that would be green in color. Which item did you see this vegetable in?
the vegetable you are talking about is called coriander or cilantro its actually a herb they add at the end of cooking thus retaining its green colour…most dishes have this…….its either that or baby spinach leaves wilted

I’m guessing the green vegetable was mustard greens. It is less fibrous than chard, and much tastier than spinach. Mustard is used extensively in India, as seeds, greens, and for oil. In the US it’s a seasonal vegetable, and this is the season.
Not clear if this is a Pakistani/Indian difference (Pakistan is more similar to North India than it is to South India). It might just be this restaurant.
I’m not sure of the difference. They’re bound to be similar because of the geographic location of India and Pakistan.
I had that vegetable you were talking about when I went to Pakistan last year. I believe my husband said it comes from a tree, but I don’t know the name in english. It tasted like weak spinach. I didn’t like it, but the rest of the food there was great.
