All he has done is lie about everything. He said he would bring back the troops from Afghanistan and Iraq, he hasn’t done that. Every country America has attacked in that region is in shambles/worse off: we have destroyed the minimal infrastructure those 2 countries had, and want them to have farcical elections so that puppet governments are installed in both countries. America has been successful in installing a puppet (Karzai) in Afghanistan, but Iraq is showing resistance. My fellow Americans would say it was a good thing to remove ruthless leaders/leaderships (Saddam Hussein/Taliban), yet they seem to forget that Saddam Hussein and Taliban both were under the CIA payroll. People think the past American leaders were naive to be allies with people in the past, they would later become enemies with; yet they don’t see the pattern of the “Divide and Rule”.
We are essentially destroying the region. Our next target is to destroy Pakistan (which is happening right now), and then you would completely surround Iran. India is already our ally, so we would have complete access to the resources of that part of the region (whether that’s oil, natural gas, opium, minerals from Afghanistan). Obama lies about everything he says, he is as bad as Bush in terms of war; in terms of corporate interests in America and looting the American people. He said he wants America to be energy-independent, but all he is doing is increase America’s dependence. And then we ask why the whole world hates us.

Obama fits the picture that European Liberals (aka those who vote on the Nobel committee). Real accomplishments, like those of Ronald Reagan, are not acknowledged by this group of european socialists.
The Nobel prize is not about accomplishments, it’s about politics and hype. At one time it may have meant something, but today, with people like Arafat (the terrorists) getting the prize, and Obama (someone who has accomplished nothing) the Nobel prize is more of a joke than an award.
Obama should be embarassed, but notice, he is so self-centered and arrogant that he probably thinks he earned the prize.
European Liberals love money from the USA, they enjoy protection from the USA military (they do nothing for themselves), and they think by marginalizing Americans that it puts them on a pedestal. Low income Americans live as well as middle income europeans, we have the best universities, medical facilities, scientists, product developers, engineers in the world, and the Europeans think they are better people, more enlightened, etc.
Obama is a poster child for the Nobel Award, a perfect example of what is wrong with the Nobel award, and why it has become a complete farce.

1. He cancelled the Polish missiles which were causing lots of friction between Russia and Western Europe. Bush tried to restart the Cold War so he and Cheney could make a buck – luckily it didn’t work.
2. He advocated for the poor in the United States – an issue very dear to Europeans.
3. He tried his best to repair relations with the US and the rest of the World, which had been badly damaged by Bush imperialist attitude – my way or else.
He was nominated soon after winning, but confirmed much later, when these things had happened. The Right is just jealous and pissed off.
This is an OLD question that does not need to be asked for the 1000th time here. And by the way, Obama NEVER said he’d bring the troops home from Afghanistan. He said he’d increase our commitment there. But ironically, upon further review, he just might bring them home anyway. As for Iraq, it’s ot easy getting out of a war. Patience.
First of all he didnt say anything about removing troops from Afghanistan, matter of fact he stated the opposite. Secondly Alfred Nobel said and this is a quote from Nobel himself.
The award will go to those who “shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses”.
So I would consider Obama more than deserving of this prize
Its called “PEACE” prize for a reason.
