Sounds like you answered your own question. What’s being done to stop them is to arrest them and having them plead guilty.
Over half the hand gun crimes committed in Canada are from guns purchased illegally in the USA,handguns have been restricted since 1932 here we don’t have right to bear arms here anything that can be done to halt this would be appreciated,we have had a few too many shootouts lately. On the subject of export of military hardware I would think a charge of Treason would be in order which in a time of war is a Capital crime
